Andrew J Sabetta

Andrew “Andy” Sabetta, age 78, of North Branford passed away peacefully in New Haven on October 9, 2020. Andy was born in Derby, Connecticut on January 6, 1942 to the late Alfonso and Mary (Dematteo) Sabetta.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Louise Centore Sabetta, and by their children, Al (Carrie) Sabetta of Northford, Andrew Sabetta of Wallingford, Maria Sabetta Clow of Naugatuck, Deborah Sabetta of North Branford, Alex (Moriah) Sabetta of North Branford, Joshua Sabetta of Branford, Hollie Sabetta of North Branford, Joseph (Briana) Sabetta of Branford, Tommy Sabetta of Branford, Salvatore Sabetta of North Branford, Alexander Sabetta of North Branford, Jenny Sabetta of New Haven, and over 60 foster children.  Andy was also the very proud Poppy of 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Andy, who worked as an assistant project manager at Fusco Corporation for many years, served our country as a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine Corps until 1966. He returned from the service and married his soulmate, Louise on June 3, 1967, regularly acknowledging this to be the best decision he ever made. Andy loved his family, his New York Giants, ice cream, peanut butter, and Sunday pasta dinners. Most of all, he was a loving spouse, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, and uncle who will be missed by his entire family.

Funeral arrangements will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
