Alton L. Eliason

Alton L. Eliason (Bucky) died October 29, 2018 peacefully at the age of 101.  Born February 12, 1917, he was married for 81 years to the love of his life, Marjorie.  He was born and raised in North Haven where he acquired his love of farming. 

The youngest of seven, he became interested in physical fitness. He owned a gym in New Haven in the early forties and became one of the first physiotherapists in the state.  He wrote for many fitness and organic gardening magazines and was best known for his "Wit and Wisdom" articles in the Totoket Times.  He retired from the Post Office.  His life revolved around his family and working the homestead. 

He leaves his daughter, Linda Kos, son, Leslie (Carolyn) Eliason, grandchildren, Kim (Mathew) Williams, Stephanie ( John) Flanagan, Jacquelyn Kos, Sean (Allyson) Eliason, and Shilo Megill, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be on Sunday November 11, 2018 at 10:00 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 at Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd, North Branford.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Totoket Times, P O Box 313, Northford, CT or Animal Haven, 89 Mill Rd, North Haven, CT 06473.
