Louis A. Pongetti, age 93, of Guilford, entered into a peaceful rest on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. He was born on September 18, 1927 in New Haven to the late Louis Pongetti and Mary (Grestini) Pongetti. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Abbenante) Pongetti, with whom he had 69 wonderful years.

Mr. Pongetti served in the United States Air Force as Sergeant in 1946, stationed in Japan and the Phillipines.  He worked for Sikorsky Air Craft for over 33 years until his retirement in 1992.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his wife Helen, he is survived by his three children, Michael Pongetti (Dawn LaChance) of North Branford, Louis Pongetti (Laura) of Guilford, and Vanessa Gallipoli of East Haven. He also leaves one sister, Mary Lou Benedict, three grandchildren, Jeremy Pongetti, Matthew Pongetti, and Scott Gallipoli, and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Antonino, his son in-law Scott Gallipoli, and his grandson Michael Gallipoli.

Family and friends may visit Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. In light of the current pandemic, face coverings and social distancing are required.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Georges Church, 33 Whitfield St, Guilford, CT at 11:00 A.M. with interment at All Saints Cemetery, 700 Middletown Avenue, North Haven, with full Military honors. To my darling Louis,

Dear Louis,

You passed away two years ago today. I'm so lonesome without you. I cannot take it anymore, being here without you. We were so happy when you were here. We were married for 71 years. We had three beautiful children, 18 grandchildren, 4 grandsons, and one great-great grandson.
