William Timmons English Sr.

William Timmons English Sr., 70, of West Haven, beloved husband of Judith Capasso English, passed away on Sunday May 14, 2017 at his home.  William was born in New Haven on February 2, 1947 to the late George and Mary Timmons English.  William was a longtime resident of West Haven and served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.  After his military service, William was employed by Amtrak for nearly 40 years until his retirement in 2010. In his spare time William was a member of the West Haven Elks Lodge as well as the West Haven V.F.W.  Besides his wife of almost 33 years, William is survived by his four children; daughter Michelle Taylor and her husband Matthew of South Carolina, son William English Jr. and his wife Danielle of West Haven, and sons Christopher and Brian English of West Haven.  William is also survived by his two Sisters; Nancy Hyde of Branford, Joan Morrissey of West Haven and his three grandchildren; Shawn and Ashlyn Taylor of South Carolina, and Ethan English of West Haven.  William was predeceased by his sister Claire English of West Haven.  Family and friends are invited to gather at the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St. West Haven, on Thursday May 18, 2017 from 10-11:30am.  A memorial service will take place at the funeral home at 11:30am.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations in William’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
