Rose Lucille Papke

Rose Lucille Papke (Liberti), a cherished soul of West Haven, CT, concluded her journey on earth peacefully on Friday, March 29th, 2024, at the age of 81. Welcomed into the world on September 16th, 1942, in Derby, CT, by her parents, Joseph and Alma Liberti, Rose lived a life marked by warmth, laughter, and an indomitable spirit.

Rose's days were often spent by the serene West Haven beach, a testament to her love for nature and community. Here, amidst the soothing sounds of waves, she engaged in joyful bocce competitions and Scrabble challenges with her daughter and friends, often leaving them in awe with her creativity and wit, particularly with her legendary use of the word 'zoospore'.

Her adventurous spirit didn't just shine through games; Rose was an avid bowler and a pool player who could easily outclass competitors half her age. Her enthusiasm for life extended to singing karaoke, attending art classes, and staying updated with the latest cinematic releases. Rose was a true pioneer, fearlessly exploring complex topics like quantum physics and inspiring thoughtful discussions among her peers. Her philosophy was simple yet profound, "life is short don’t waste your time being sad because life is meant to be lived," a belief she embodied every day with her infectious energy.

Deeply missed by her beloved daughter, Jennifer Lucille Papke, her devoted brother Joseph Liberti Jr. and his wife Mary, Charles Liberti and his wife Joan, along with numerous nieces and nephews, Rose's legacy is a treasure trove of memories and lessons. Her brothers Vincent and Thomas Liberti predeceased her.

To celebrate Rose's remarkable journey, family, friends, and all those touched by her vibrant soul are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday, April 4th, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Keenan Funeral Home in West Haven, with a service to celebrate her life at 6:00 PM. Let's honor Rose by living fully, loving deeply, and embracing the joy of each moment.
