Marilyn Gesner

Marilyn L. Gesner, 90, of West Haven passed away on December 7, 2017 at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip H. Gesner. Marilyn was born in New Haven, CT on March 8, 1927 to the late Ralph and Dawny (Thompson) Lawson.

Marilyn was one of the co-founder of The Nursery School on the Green in West Haven, where she worked for more than 14 years.  She also work at Noble school for a number years. She also enjoyed her time as a Sunday School teacher, and she loved children. Marilyn was a member of the Garden Club in Maine and loved to travel.  She cherished her family and was a dear friend to all.

Marilyn is survived by her two children, Philip (Scott) Gesner of Southington, CT and Pamela Gesner Ignatovich of West Haven. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  Marilyn was predeceased by her daughter, Susan Gesner Daddona, a brother, Ralph Lawson, and her sister, Barbara McDermott.

Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven on Thursday, December 14, from 4-7pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s  Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
