Katherine Mary Hackley

Katherine Mary Hackley, 39, of Branford, was delivered to the arms of angels on Saturday, April 22, 2017.  Katie was born in New Haven, Connecticut on February 28, 1978 to David R. Jacobs Jr. and Mary L. Morgan.  Katie was raised in Branford and spent most of her adult life residing there. Katie was employed in the restaurant and hospitality industry for most of her life and was a true people pleaser.  She had a real passion for cooking and was always eager to learn as well as to teach others.  She had a love for music and dance and loved to play the flute. Katie had a smile that could light up a room as well as a laugh that is certainly not to be forgotten. Katie enjoyed her time with family when they vacationed to Maine to the Jacobs family cottage at Piper Pond. Katie loved to sit back and simply read a few books for relaxation.  Above all else, Katie adored her children and treasured her time spent with them in any aspect of their lives. 

Besides her parents David and Mary, Katie is survived by her three children; Tyler A. Hoss, Brendan J. Hoss and Morgan F. Hackley. She is also survived by her two brothers; David R. Jacobs III and Wesley M. Jacobs and his wife Heather as well as two nephews and a niece; David Jacobs IV, and Leah and Connor Jacobs. Katie was predeceased by her maternal grandparents; Wesley and Katherine Morgan as well as her paternal grandparents; Doris and David Jacobs Sr. Family and friends are invited to visit Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Road, North Branford, on Friday April 28, 2017 from 10-11am.  The funeral cortege will then process to St. John’s Episcopal Church, 129 Ledge Hill Rd. Guilford, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:30am.  Interment will follow in Alderbrook Cemetery in Guilford. Donations in Katherine’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
