John Szczygiel

John Szczygiel, 89 of Guilford, beloved husband of Gloria (Lafrance) Szczygiel, entered into eternal rest on Friday June 9, 2017.  John was born in New Haven on May 18, 1928 to the late Theodore and Jennifer (Duda) Szczygiel.  John was a resident of Guilford for the past 15 years after moving there from North Branford.  He was employed by Rockbestos Cable in New Haven as a machinist for over 35 years until his retirement.  John served his country in the United States Navy and was proud of his service to his country.  Besides his wife Gloria of 60 years, John is survived by his four children; son Phillip Szczygiel (Gayle) of New Hampshire, son Todd Szczygiel of Guilford, daughter Kim Szczygiel of Arizona, and daughter Karen Ford (Patrick) of North Branford. John is also survived by his three grandchildren; Sabrina Blake, Patrick and Bridgit Ford and one Great-grandson Jackson Blake.  John was predeceased by his sister Stella and his grandson Ryan Ford.  John’s family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Donna Criscenzo for her friendship and caring for John.  Family and friends are welcomed to gather at the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd North Branford, on Monday June 12, 2017 from 4-6pm.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
