Italia Padula

Italia Padula, 80, of West Haven passed away following a long illness at Milford Hospital on Saturday, March 11, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Gennaro Padula  and had being married for more than 41 years. She was a devoted and caring mother of her two survived sons: Gino Padula of Milford and Carlo Padula of West Haven along with her sister, Rina Palladino of West Haven and three nieces. 

Italia was born in Casaletto, Italy on November 18, 1936 to the late Carlo and Letizia (Preta) Napoli. Italia was a seamstress for most of her life, working on the CT shoreline. She came to the United States in the 1950s as an immigrant ready to work hard and build a family. She brought her Italian culture to her family and friends, making her own food and enjoyed working in her garden. Italia was always a very pleasant, kind and caring person to anyone who knew her and needed her help. But most of all, she was a great mother and wonderful friend. She will be sadly missed among anyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven on Saturday, March 18 from 9-10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will start at 10:30 at St. Paul Church in West Haven. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery.
