Helen (Keough) Denton, 95, of West Haven, beloved wife of the late Clarence “Skip” Denton, a retired N.H.P.D. Officer, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017, at Apple Rehab of West Haven. Helen was born on April 18, 1922, in New Haven, CT to the late Bernard and Elizabeth (Scally) Keough.
She attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from Hillhouse High School with the class of 1940. Helen was employed by S.N.E.T. for 35 years until her retirement and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Helen is survived by her son, Kevin J. Denton and his wife Beth; her beloved granddaughters Christina Trapasso of Tampa Fla., and Jamie Denton; as well as one great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, James M. Denton.
Her family would like to thank the caring staff at Apple Rehab of West Haven where Helen spent her last years.
Family and friends are welcomed to gather at the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St. West Haven on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, from 9-10:30am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 620 Jones Hill Rd. West Haven. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in North Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CT Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association research fund.
