Evelyn (Kunz) Cibelli, 94, of Guilford, beloved wife of the late Anthony Cibelli passed away on Monday, October 30, 2017 at The Gables at Guilford after fulfilling her wish of seeing her entire family.  Evelyn was born on April 7, 1923 in Queens, NY to the late Henry and Estelle (Groves) Kunz. 

Evelyn married her sweetheart Anthony in 1946 and then relocated to Maine where they created a home and raised their family.  Evelyn and her family relocated to North Branford in 1959 and resided there until 1980 when her and her husband Anthony moved to Madison.  They lived there until Anthony’s passing in 2011 and shortly after Evelyn moved to The Gables at Guilford where she resided until her passing.  Evelyn was a founding member, past president, and active member of the North Branford Women’s Club for over 50 years.  She was part of numerous committees and projects and was always eager to lend a helping hand.  She taught Sunday school for many years at North Branford Congregational Church, was a volunteer at the local library for children’s story hour, and was most recently an Ambassador for Senior’s Helping Senior’s at The Gables at Guilford.  Evelyn will be remembered by all who knew her for her love for life, helping others and giving back to her community. 

Evelyn is survived by her three children; Christine Mordecai and her husband George, Robert Cibelli and his wife Ann, Bill Cibelli and his significant other Karen Everett, and her daughter-in-law Susan Mason and her husband Robert.  Evelyn also leaves behind seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her son; Anthony Cibelli, grandson Anthony Cibelli-Mason and her brother Greyden Kunz.  Her family would like to thank the staff and all the support services which were provided by The Gables at Guilford as well as Branford Hospice for all the compassion and care during Evelyn’s final days. 

Family and friends are welcomed to gather at the North Branford Congregational Church, 1680 Foxon Rd. North Branford, on Friday November 3, 2017 at 11am where a Memorial Service will be held.  Per Evelyn’s wishes interment will be private and at the convenience of her family.  There will be no calling hours.
