Eugene Sullivan

Eugene Sullivan, 80, of Bethany, beloved husband of the late Joyce (Barrett) Sullivan, passed away on Wednesday September 20, 2017 at Yale New Haven Hospital.  Born in New Haven on August 13, 1937 to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Sheehan) Sullivan, he was a longtime resident of Bethany. 

He was employed for over 20 years by the Lindquist Steel Co. in Stratford as an accountant.  Gene was known for living his life on “Sullivan Time” and was always fashionably late to any family event or gathering.  He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church in Woodbridge where he was a member of the prayer group and a former lector.  Gene was an avid walker and was part of a walking group as well as being a longtime scout master for Troop 59 in Bethany.  He will be missed by all his friends and family alike for his kind and generous ways.

Gene is survived by his only son, David Sullivan and his wife Deirdre.  He was predeceased by all his siblings.

Family and friends are welcomed to visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St. West Haven, on Sunday September 24, 2017 from 3-7pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday September 25, 2017, 11:00 am, at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, 81 Center Road (Rte. 114) Woodbridge, CT 06525.  Everyone is asked to gather directly at the church the morning of Mass.  Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery in Naugatuck. 

The family wishes to thank the Southington Police Department, AMR Waterbury, Bradley Memorial and Yale New Haven Hospital for all their support and care of Gene.
