Bob was a great professional and true friend. He readily admitted that he was opinionated and then go on to make his point. He probably did more to affect the street appearance of New Haven than any other person in its history. He gave me professional advice in the 1970s that I used for the rest of my career. I had the privilege of nominating him for Fellow to the American Society of Landscape Architects His family can be truly be proud of him and the legacy he left.

Dean,
Thank you for your kind words. We are very proud of our father's achievements. Many we have learned since his passing. He loved what he did and the folks he worked with.
Again, thank you,

We will truly miss Bob Gregan. He was always such a warm, charming and engaging individual. In our early married days Bob and Janet were the " cool" older people we invited to all of our parties, including our wedding. In the later years , we were always happy to run into him at an industry event or family gathering, Bob offered us encouragement in our careers early on and later became a trusted confidant on any industry issue. In addition, Bob was always the kind of person who took the time to find out how we were doing as well as our children. We admired him and his body of work in landscape architecture. We also greatly respected him as a friendly, caring family man. May he rest in peace and our sincerest condolences to all his family and friends.

I met Bob as we served on the Board of The Friends of Grove Street Cemetery before he stepped down because of his health. I also enjoyed his company at some Land Trust events. He always added a relaxed charm at meetings and out in the field. We shall all be at a loss without his knowledge and enthusiasm.

John, we sincerely thank you for your tribute for our father. He was very proud to be a member of The Grove Street Cemetery. He considered it one of the most beautiful landscapes he had ever seen. He'd always point it out to us whenever we drove by.
Again thank you,
The Gregan Family

My sincere condolences on the passing of Bob. As the former Director of Parks, Recreation and Trees for 7 years I had the honor and pleasure or working with Bob on numerous street tree planting projects and park design. I can honestly say that Bob genuinely cared for the City of New Haven and its' neighborhoods. He was one of those unsung hero's that never got the true recognition he deserved but those of us who were fortunate enough to work with him knew all too well what a dedicated and committed professional he was. I am honored to known Bob professionally and personally. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

In tribute to a great cousin, father, grandfather, husband and a gentleman who truly loved America. Bob will be sorely missed by many. While we didn't see each other all that often, we did talk regularly on the phone as we worked on our joint little genealogy projects, following up on Janet's legacy. Well now, he is finally among all of those loved ones that we both strove to immortalize with our Family Trees.

My heart goes out to his son and daughters and the entire Family.

Cousin Bob

John, we thank you kindly for your words. Dad was bigger than life. He truly loved his profession, but was always humble with his accomplishments. One sometimes never knows their father until others share his achievements.
Thank you,

This is a great picture of Bob. As an old neighbor on Edgewood Road, I will always remember his laugh and his many stone walls. I know Harry will be happy to be reunited with his old neighbor. Bob will be missed here on earth but he has definitely left us all with great memories.. Sending my condolences to the whole family.

We have been celebrating our father's life through stories. We all recall listening to the laughter of your family at dinner time. Dad loved his neighbors and we will never forget that wonderful neighborhood. A place where we grew up and learned so many life lessions from each other's parents. It is almost surreal when compared to today's.
Thank you,
