David R. Griffin

David R. Griffin passed on February 28, 2024 after fighting a courageous battle with cancer for many years.  He was born on July 13, 1951 in New Haven, CT to the late Vincent Griffin and Alice Joyce Griffin.

Dave grew up in West Haven, attended Milford Academy, and St. Leo’s College in Florida.  He owned a restaurant in Wallingford, and American Way Uniform Company, and then worked for Judge Ed Leavitt, and Barrett’s Outdoor for many years.  He loved the Red Sox!

He is survived by sisters, Marleen Griffin, Dorice Farrell (James), and Sharon Griffin.  Amy and Danny, whom he considered his own.  He’s also survived by many nieces, nephews, and especially niece Hannah who kept his spirits up these last couple of years.  We are all forever grateful for the dedicated care provided by the staff at Milford Healthcare, especially Sly.  We are also grateful to his best friends Therese, and Bruce Barrett who provided endless support. 

A memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, March 12, at 10 a.m. at Woodmont United Church of Christ, 1000 New Haven Ave., Milford, CT  06460.  Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to one's choice.
