Carrie M. Stoddard

Carrie M. (Bradley) Stoddard, 85, of New Haven, formerly of Branford, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2017.  Carrie was the wife of the late Donald  H. Stoddard, and leaves behind her nieces and nephews Jane (Bill) Bietz, Lisa Holland, Mark (Nora) Stoddard and Paul Stoddard, Bill (Nancy) Janicki, Bob (Nancy) Janicki, Judy (Harvey) Murtha and Christine Janicki, as well as a number of great-nieces and nephews including Allie and Spencer Bietz, Brendon, Zachary, Bronson, Gavin and Zoe Holland, Hannah and Rebekah Stoddard, and Paul Jr. and Jackie Stoddard.  Carrie also leaves behind her sister in law, Marjorie Stoddard.

Carrie was loved by many.  In addition to her traditional family, she had her second family at the Mary Wade Home where she lived for almost nine years.  Carrie (aka “Care Bear”) was a popular resident, and had a rapport with the staff members that was second to none.  Everyone loved her sunny disposition and positive attitude. Carrie was also very talented at many crafts including embroidery, and she lovingly embroidered pillow cases for many friends and relatives over the years. Carrie always made the best of any situation and was a great example of how a positive outlook on life can make all the difference in the world.  She will be greatly missed.

The family would also like to thank the staff of the Mary Wade Home who provided loving and compassionate care to Carrie over the years.

Family and friends may visit the Keenan Funeral Home, 330 Notch Hill Rd., North Branford on Monday October 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. with a service starting at 7 p.m. Burial will be private.
