Joseph L. Vidal

WEST HAVEN ~ Joseph L. Vidal, 88, of West Haven, loving husband of 63 years to Irene Ritchie Vidal, passed away March 25, 2014 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, son of the late Andre and Juliette Beaurivage Vidal. He served in the United States Navy During World War Two, He then worked as a machinist for Avco Lycoming which then became Textron for many years until retiring. He was a devoted family man who also enjoyed watching baseball and golf and going to the casino. Surviving besides his wife is his children, Louise Welch and her husband Laurence of West Haven and Joseph Vidal and his wife Patty of North Haven; and his grandchildren, Jeffrey, Christian and Katie Vidal. His funeral will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday at Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, New Haven. Family and friends are invited to call from 12:00 – 2:00 pm prior to his service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.
