MADISON  ~ Joseph Richard Caprio, 83, of Madison, for 62 years the beloved husband of Lynne Rees Caprio, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle, died suddenly  at Yale-New Haven Shoreline Medical Center in Guilford, July 15, 2014.  He was born in New Haven, August 5, 1930, a son of the late Dominic and Mary Ardolino  Caprio.  U.S. Marine Corp Staff Sergeant Caprio served honorably during the Korean Conflict.  Among other engagements he saw action in the assault and seizure of Inchon, Korea; the Wonsan-Hungnam-Chosin Campaign, in North Korea, and other operations against enemy forces in Southern and Central Korea.  Joe had been employed for over 30 years with Burndy Corp, advancing to General Manager, and subsequently, for several years, with Kupler Corporation where he retired as Vice President of manufacturing.  He enjoyed the beach in Madison, relating stories of his military experience, and his car, but he  was a family man first, enjoying above  all else the time spent with his loving wife Lynne, his children and especially his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Besides his wife he is survived by his daughters and their families; Edwina Harrison, of Madison, Robin (Dennis) Longo, of Naples, FL, Laura (Anthony Zanardi) Montesi, of Killingworth, and Cindy (Bob) Farrell, of Durham, CT; nine very special grandchildren, Christian and his wife Jennie, Megan and her husband Chris, Benjamin, Matthew, Ashley, Caitlin, Sara, Tyler, and Kyle, and 2 cherished great grandchildren, Levi and Alexis.  He also leaves two brothers and a sister, Richard (Peggy) Caprio, of Boynton Beach, FL, Robert (Adele) Caprio, of Branford, Carol Provitz, of East Haven, as well as several nieces and nephews.  Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Karen Caprio, of Wells, ME.  Joe was predeceased by his son-in-law, Peter Harrison and his brother, Donald Caprio.  The funeral will be from Zion Episcopal Church, 326 Notch Hill Road, North Branford, Saturday morning at 10:00.  Burial with military honors will follow in Zion Memorial Garden.  There are no calling hours.  Condolences may be expressed online at www.keenanfuneralhome.com
