WEST HAVEN ~ Alyce Patricia Bellmore, 88, of West Haven, beloved wife of the late William Bellmore, loving sister, aunt, great aunt, and cousin, died Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Apple Rehab of West Haven. Alyce was born in New Haven, March 17, 1926, a daughter of the late Thomas and Marie Hile Taylor. She loved spending time with family and enjoyed being referred to as “Aunt Alyce” by all who knew her. Time at the pool with her favorite libation, especially a White Russian, was always fun, as well as playing cards, bingo, her nightly lottery numbers and the horse races. Alyce loved cheering on and supporting her family at hockey and soccer games, dance recitals and theater performances. Alyce is survived by her sister, Sandra Reynolds and her husband Charles, of West Haven; two brothers, Edward Taylor, of Hamden and Robert Taylor, of Nebraska. She is predeceased by her sister Madeline Brown, of Branford. Alyce also leaves many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. The funeral will be from the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm Street, West Haven, Thursday morning at 10:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Victory Church, West Haven, at 11:00. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday morning from 9:00 to 10:30. Alyce’s family wishes to extend very special thanks to the staff and caregivers at Apple Rehab for their dedicated and compassionate care.
